Working & Learning Trip
Málaga – 2022
Since the last Sonum EMEA training trip in September 2021 to Poland, several new colleagues had joined the team. With some Anaplan experience already under their belts, our junior consultants were ready for Anaplan’s level 3 model-building training. We decided to go to sunny Malaga in the south of Spain for a week’s worth of workshop training, working, and integration.

We stayed in Rincon de la Victoria, a picturesque and quiet coastal town with beautiful beaches and various beach bars where we had dinner all together. Our non-Spanish colleagues had the opportunity to learn about tapas and try the local Spanish cuisine throughout the week.
Even though each of the villas had pools and the heat was tolerable, many of us resorted to working under air conditioning to focus better and avoid our laptops from overheating. It was still possible to enjoy the magnificent views of palm trees and mountains from the windows.

Despite all the fun and games, there was also work to be done! The junior colleagues from Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, and Spain focused on acquiring new Anaplan certifications and improving their skills. As the more senior colleagues gave workshops on the most unclear topics and aligned the team, the junior colleagues facilitated the discussion. To keep up the same quality of work throughout the organisation, all Sonum model builders must adhere to standard model-building conventions.
The training week also allowed us to get to know our colleagues from other offices, whom we usually only get to know through teams and zoom calls. Through this, we got to know each other better and will be able to communicate more easily in the future.
During the weekend, some of us toured Malaga while others went to the beach, a fitting end to our weeklong trip. The trip was overall a very enjoyable and rewarding experience, and hopefully, there will be many more Sonum working+learning trips to come.
