Why I joined Sonum International
By Mark Deprez – VP of EPM Alliances
The last time I updated my status on LinkedIn, I posted: “Time for a break after helping scale start-ups to market leaders in the last two decades”.
Two months later, I want to share with you what made me choose Sonum, as the next chapter in my career, from a beautiful list of options on the software vendor and consulting implementation partners’ side.
To understand that decision-making exercise, you need to understand what makes me wake up and say: “Yes! It will be another fun day where I will bring value to customers and colleagues, and do this with the best possible team!”
To succeed in this mission, I felt Sonum was the best-placed party for three reasons. I call it the three Ps.
Number one is the PEOPLE aspect, as I strongly believe in the saying, “People buy from people”. Hence, choosing Sonum was easy as I have known some people in the Sonum team for over 20 years. They stand for high-quality delivery of Enterprise Performance Management software implementations and let this be a critical success criterion for bringing actual customer value.
The second “P” is in PLACE. Sonum’s team has grown from a Netherlands-based consulting firm to a globally present company. Therefore, working with a diverse and culturally global team is essential to me.
And finally, having worked in the enterprise software marketplace for the majority of my career, PRODUCT plays an essential part in my decision as this also plays a significant role in the ability to bring value to customers. Sonum has the best products in the EPM market in its portfolio, and I have built considerable experience and credentials with e.g. Anaplan. This way, I can make an impact on prospects, the team and existing customers immediately. Team play is a key to joint success.
I look forward to joining Sonum as their VP of EPM Alliances to work with the best people and top-notch products in an ever-exciting global marketplace!
